Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Group Shoot?
This is a networking event. Photographers, Models, Make-Up Artists and more sign up and attend. The goal is for everyone to network with each other and come out of the event with fresh portfolio material.
You may now start reviewing and contacting any person on the participation list that you are interested in working with. Simply ask "do you have any openings at the PWS shoot?" or something similar. If a person you wish to work with is not on this list, feel free to send them a link here to see if they are interested in participating. We ask that you not schedule with someone that has not been added to the official participation list. The list will be onhand the day of the shoot and those not on it will not be allowed in the door.
It is advised that you make a schedule and post it publicly. Most people at these events tend to break shooting into hours, for example:
Peninsula Warehouse Shoot Saturday July 18
10-open
11-open
12-open
1-open
2-open
Once you start coordinating schedules, add their name to your list. New members are added daily so check back to the list often to see who is now available. You can also periodically (that means every couple days, not hourly) post your open dates in the forum.
One week prior to the PWS, you will be emailed a link to the official PWS Information Packet which will include further instructions, forms, maps and other items to help make your experience as productive and enjoyable as possible.
Shooting Area Reservations:
Some locations will be available to reserve for amounts of time. This will be worked out in the next couple weeks. If photographers wish to set up in one studio space for an entire day there may be an extra fee. This will only be allowed in the studio spaces and not in other locations.
Is this event only for people on Model Mayhem?
No. The largest purpose of this website is to help open the event to people around the web not on ModelMayhem. Admittedly, much of the action and communication takes place there and you will find you build a schedule easier by having a profile there. However, we will be making more efforts to make access to the shoot easier for people all over.
Cancellations:
If you are listed as participating and cannot make it for any reason, please be courteous and contact anyone you have scheduled with as soon as possible. Your attendance is important to them and advance notice will help them fill their empty slots quick. Simply not showing up without warning will result in banishment of all future PWS events.
Security:
Floor monitors will be at hand to ensure the overall peace. They will also periodically walk all the areas for to be of any assistance if needed.

About Parking
Everyone will be asked to park at the front of the building and walk around to the entrance, if you have a large amount of things you will be allowed to come around to unload but have to return with everyone else for parking. Staff and tenants of the building will be allowed to park next to the building. I am trying to minimize our impact on other tenants in the building with this, and also keep the fun locations outside clear of cars for shooting, cause there is some cool stuff back there.
Electricity
There are outlets around the building in the studio spaces. Efforts will be made to have extension cords laid down making power available in the open warehouse. But there will be shooting areas without power available.
